Watch your horizon lines. When shooting landscapes these two simple tricks will make your pictures better. First, make sure that your horizon line is straight. Tilted landscapes look weird. Second, place your horizon line in the top two-thirds or bottom two-thirds of the frame. You want the photo to highlight either the sky, water, rocks, etc… Horizon lines in the middle of the frame generally leave the viewer wondering what it is that you are trying to highlight in your image.
